On January 28 was held at the headquarters of AENOR in Madrid the first meeting of the Working Group 2 for the development of ISO, NUCLEAR remote manipulation.
The Working Group 2 is coordinated by Don Jose de Nó Sánchez de León, Researcher of the National Research Council (CSIC) as a technician in the Industrial Automation Institute of said Council.
In this first meeting was attended, among others, Don Miguel Seriola Rhodes, CEO of INGENIERIA DE APLICACIONES SA
The objective of the Working Group is to bring together and coordinate the Spanish interests in tele-robotics being made by the ISO TC 24 WG 85/SC2
In ISO aspects of Nuclear Robotics for Remote Handling, are framed within the TC 85/SC 2, WG 24. This WG has proposed and accepted at the meeting of April 2011 in Niagara (Canada), the development of a new standard on Robotics in which master and slave arms are not connected mechanically but by computers. This new standard can be very important for the activity of the companies they will be considered in the selection of equipment for ITER.
The WG 24 now begins to prepare the drafts and is important to keep informed and receive proposals from all agents which can make contributions, considering that the best way is the creation of the Working Group on CTN 73.
